Introduction to Lived Experience Engagement: From Policy to Practice

This interactive online workshop provides an introduction to meaningful lived experience engagement for organisations seeking to strengthen consumer and carer participation and respond to the evolving expectations of mental health commissioning in the ACT. Participants will explore best practice approaches to lived experience inclusion, consider organisational readiness, and gain practical strategies for translating policy, commissioning expectations, and co-design principles into everyday practice.

This workshop will be delivered by Lived Experience Australia, a leading organisation dedicated to strengthening the voice and influence of people with lived and living experience across mental health systems. Through advocacy, education, training, and partnerships, Lived Experience Australia supports organisations to embed meaningful consumer and carer engagement and build more responsive, inclusive services.

Designed for CEOs, executive leaders, board members, senior managers, and those responsible for organisational strategy, this three-hour online workshop will equip participants with the knowledge and practical approaches needed to embed meaningful lived experience engagement across governance, service design, organisational culture, and the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services.
