Inclusive Healthcare by Meridian

September 15 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Duration: 3 hours

Delivery method: In person only

About this module

Creating inclusive services is more than good practice—it is increasingly a key component of delivering high-quality, outcomes-focused care and demonstrating responsiveness to community need.

This interactive workshop will support participants to build their confidence in providing affirming healthcare to people from LGBTIQA+ communities and explore the practical actions individuals and organisations can take to reduce barriers to access and improve service experiences.

Through facilitated discussion and practical activities, participants will examine how inclusive practice contributes to better engagement, improved outcomes and more equitable access to services. The workshop also explores how inclusive approaches can be embedded at an organisational level to strengthen service quality and support commissioning priorities related to equity and inclusion.

Drawing on current stigma and discrimination research from the Centre for Social Research in Health at UNSW, this module will help practitioners understand the impact of exclusion and develop strategies that create safer and more welcoming healthcare environments.

Why attend?
