Perinatal Mental Health Alliance
The ACT Perinatal Mental Health Alliance was established in 2025 by the Mental Health Community Coalition ACT (MHCC ACT) and is supported by the ACT Health Directorate.
The Alliance aims to improve integration across services, ensure consistent and high-quality care for parents and infants, and create a sustainable framework for future perinatal mental health services in the ACT.
Its specific objectives are to:
- connect members and service providers to enhance perinatal mental health and wellbeing outcomes for new families in the ACT
- reduce system fragmentation by improving the integration of services and delivering a comprehensive service system for perinatal mental health
- focus on three key areas—residential services, screening and data, and service system improvements—to ensure a targeted and effective approach
- raise community awareness, reduce stigma and provide culturally safe, trauma-informed and accessible services
- foster collaboration among service providers, community members and government, ensuring sustainable reforms and holistic support for parents and infants.
