ACT Mental Health Sector Update: 26 November 2020
In this edition, we want to start by saying a fond farewell to our leader and colleague, Simon Viereck, as he leaves MHCC ACT this week. In an ongoing effort to make sure you keep safe, take note of the latest COVID-19 advice from ACT Health. MHCC ACT welcome and congratulate their new elected board members from Tuesday’s AGM. We take a look at the PC Mental Health Inquiry Report released last week, and also share information about further state and federal funding announced for mental health and youth homelessness. NDIS has released information for their new price guide, and there will be an online consumer forum on psychosocial disability housing. Headspace launches ‘Visible’, a creative online initiative to combat mental health stigma, and the Youth Coalition are doing a final call for submissions to their youth directory CNCT. Join in the online launch for National Safety and Quality Digital Mental Health Standards, and share the story from Jazz in the lived experience of suicide film ‘The Girl on the Bridge’.
There is also a list of interesting mental health resources and articles for further reading.
Our Member Spotlight this edition is Richmond Fellowship ACT.
