Engaging Lived Experience of Suicide: From Consultation to Co-Design

July 21 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

This event has been Postpone.  New dates out soon.

As commissioning and procurement processes increasingly emphasise co-design, person-centred services, and evidence of meaningful stakeholder engagement, organisations are expected to demonstrate how people with lived experience inform service design, delivery, governance and continuous improvement.

This workshop supports organisations to build the capability required to engage, integrate and partner with people with lived experience of suicide in ways that are authentic, respectful and impactful. Moving beyond consultation, participants will explore how lived experience perspectives can strengthen service quality, improve outcomes, and contribute to more responsive and effective suicide prevention initiatives.

Workshop Overview (1.5 hours)

This introductory workshop builds understanding of how to meaningfully engage people with lived experience of suicide and embed lived experience perspectives across organisational practice.

Drawing on nationally recognised resources, the session explores why lived experience is critical to effective suicide prevention, service improvement and commissioning. Participants will learn practical approaches to partnering with people with lived experience to inform decision-making, program design, evaluation and organisational culture.

The workshop introduces a whole-of-organisation approach to lived experience integration, recognising that people with lived experience bring unique insights, expertise and knowledge that can help services better meet community needs and expectations.
